The Airbus A380 is the largest passenger airliner in the world and is used on Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Air France, and Emirates. The Super jumbo made its first flight in October of 2007, but has recently landed at India’s Indira Gandhi International marking the first international carrier to touchdown a commercial A380 flight on Indian soil.

The recent landing of the A380 is a great representation of the successful relationship India has with Emirates. This feat will actually celebrate 25 years of Indian operations for Emirates.

Flight EK516 was occupied by Richard Vaughn, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and Majid Al Mualla, Emirates Senior Vice President. The Vice presidents were welcomed by a crowd of 200 people compromised by media, travel agents, and VIP’s.

VP, Richard Vaughn expressed his content by stating,  “This is a proud moment for Emirates as we celebrate 25 years of successful operations in India, one of our most important destinations, not just in Southern Asia, but across our global network”, gracefully commencing his speech.

The new accomplishment will only boost trades between both countries and promise to increase the economic situation over the upcoming years. Moreover, this feat further illustrates the commitment Emirate has to increasing development in the Indian market.

Emirates see India as a key market and look to increase there carriers significantly very soon. Currently there is 11 A380’s, but another 79 are going too completed soon enough. Flight EK 517 back to Dubai from India was equally successful being sold out days prior to take-off. The outcome fueled the momentum and proves that the Indian people are anxious to experience the luxurious A380.

The double Decker Airbus 380 is the largest passenger airplane in the world today seating up to 555 seats. Of the 555 seats, each has 49% more floor space than the outdated 747 and overall 35% higher seating capacity. Among its vast qualities, the A380 is known world wide for its First class Private suites, Shower Spa’s, and onboard lounge. Any and all passengers fall into a euphoria while inside the quite cabin and thoroughly enjoy the great technologies of its award winning in-flight entertainment system. There are more than 1,000 channels of on-demand entertainment, including 200 movies from around the world, 100 TV channels, more than 500 audio channels, 100 video games and news, sports and business headlines.

The Airbus 380 has only a few years of existence but has already created great buzz around the world. The bilateral relations between Emirates and India have been positive over the last 25 years but the introduction of these carriers will only boost their economy and provide endless financial options in years to come.
